Mike Read

Mike Read has won ten National Broadcaster of the Year awards in the United Kingdom having constantly fronted top-rated TV and Radio shows for over thirty years. These include top-rated TV shows Top Of The Pops,  Saturday Superstore, Pop Quiz and the national breakfast shows on Radio One and Classic FM. He has also won many TV and sporting awards as well as being a best-selling author, having had 35 books published.

He has had many successful stage musicals produced and has written songs for dozens of major artists, including Cliff Richard, The Bee Gees, Boy George, Gene Pitney, Don McLean, Brian Wilson, Barry & Robin Gibb, Donovan, David Essex and many others.

On the charity front, Mike is an Ambassador for The Prince’s Trust and for the last three years, Vice President of the Heritage Foundation as well as working for many other charities including The Red Cross, The Variety Club of Great Britain, Nordoff Robins Children’s Hospices, The Shooting Star Children’s Hospice, The Teenage Cancer Trust, Cliff Richard’s Tennis Foundation.

Mike currently broadcasts for the Magic Radio network and remains a regular and popular face on Sky News discussing the social, political topics of the day. Over the last year he was the main face for Vintage TV.

 

Dan Chisholm

A familiar face from last year’s concert.

Dan’s 35 year career has taken him from local radio to BBC Radio Two and BBC TV. His recent charity work included visiting a remote South African township to train radio presenters in a community where 85% of the population is affected by HIV or AIDS. He was delighted to be asked to return to help a cause close to his heart. Dan can currently be heard on BBC Radio Northampton.
